Who writes the cases
Hello, I am Tifa. I write every case on this site and I built the site that holds them. I have always liked the kind of mystery that plays fair: the kind where, once the answer is out, you can turn back the pages and see that it was there all along.
That is the rule for every case here. The evidence alone should be enough to reach the answer, with no outside knowledge and no leap that only the author could make.
How a case is made
A case starts with the truth: who was where, minute by minute, and why. Only then come the documents each person in the story would really have produced: the police report, the statement with one detail out of place, the receipt that was filed and never read again. The solution is fixed before the first document is written, and it never changes once the case is open.
Before a case is published, every document is checked against that minute-by-minute truth, and every gate question must have at least two separate routes to its answer. If you find a clue that really is wrong, tell me: the case is corrected, and the correction is noted.
The hints
The hints come from Sherlock Holmes, a fictional detective who reads over your shoulder. Hints are there so that nobody has to give up on a case, but they are priced, so a clean solve still counts for more.
Languages
The site and its cases are written in English, and they are being translated into Arabic and Turkish. A translated case keeps every name, time, number and exhibit reference of the original, and its answers are the same in every language. Recordings stay in English, with the transcript translated. Cases not yet translated are marked “In English”.
