The case
Skärvhult, southern Sweden, October 1993. Once a year the village glassworks opens its furnace hall for herring night: fish roasted in the furnace heat, schnapps, and songs until midnight. By morning Annika Rask, the works’ young engraver, lies drowned below a bank of broken glass, and the police call it a drunken slip. In 2026 a volunteer scans her old time card and posts it online, and the internet picks a culprit. You have thirty exhibits in three files, two of them sealed.
What you have to decide
When you are ready, you cast one vote in five parts. It cannot be changed once it is locked.
- Who is responsible for the death, if anyone is.
- How it was done.
- Why it was done.
- The period during which the guilty person’s own account is false.
- The two exhibits that prove it best.
Before you start
- You choose a nickname and get a recovery code. Keep the code: it brings your progress back on another device. An email address for signing in is optional.
- On the next screen you choose to play alone, open a room for up to six people, or join a room with a code.
- Each nickname has one run per case. You can stop at any point and come back later.
- Content note: the evidence describes a death and the circumstances around it.
